Author Comments

Auriculariales 2. The Auriculariales s. lat. have been shown by Weiss and Oberwinkler (2001) to be non-monophyletic. In mor, the Auriculariales are divided into two clades, Auriculariales 1 and 2. In some analyses these taxa have been placed as sister taxa, or Auriculariales 2 has been nested within Auriculariales 1. In other analyses they form a paraphyletic assemblage. Other members of the Auriculariales s. lat. seem to be distributed in other clades at the interface of the homo- and heterobasidiomycetes (notably the Sebacinaceae), but that is beyond the (present) scope of mor to resolve.
